Policies at Lost Whale Inn
If a party takes 4 or more rooms, they are required to rent out the entire inn plus an additional non refundable $500 deposit at the time of booking. You may not book more than 4 rooms via online booking, a direct booking is required. Please call (707) 677-3425
When renting out the entire inn alcohol is not provided by the inn. Guests may bring their own alcohol and no corkage fee will be charged. We can provide dinner for the party; prices depend on menu choices and time of year. Please contact us at (707) 677-3425 to discuss.
Rates are for double occupancy and include a gourmet breakfast and afternoon wine reception. The Beluga, Orca and Egret have max occupancy of four guests and the Gray, Humpback, Agate Blue, and Sea Lion have max occupancy of two guests. If you arrive with more people than our max occupancy allows for then you will still be responsible for your room and whether you decide to stay with the allotted number of guests or decide to leave.
- Rates do not include 14% county bed tax.
- Each additional person: $20
- Each additional person on dinner nights: $40 for guest staying at the inn, $50 for outside guests
- Children three and under are free
Children under the age of seven are not permitted in sleeping lofts. There is also a weight restriction of 175 pounds on the ladder leading to the loft and no more than a total of 350 pounds in the loft (two people). We do ask that parents please supervise their children at all times. We do our best to maintain an adult environment and ask that parents respect our other guests who are enjoying a more romantic experience.
We’re sorry, but no pets are allowed at the Inn. We do have dogs and cats on the premises, which remain outside of the house. Please check out our About the Inn page to meet them! If you are highly allergic to cats or dogs we do recommend you stay at another location because occasionally our guests accidentally let in our kitties.
Reservations: Must be secured by a credit card number. This will hold your reservation, but will not be charged. We will use this card for cancellation and incidental purposes only. You will not be charged remotely before your stay unless you specifically ask us to. We collect payment upon departure by either physically swiping your card, or collecting cash from you directly, so please do not leave before checking out with us. For group or extended stays we may require an additional advanced non refundable deposit. Final payment may be made with cash, check, debit, visa, mastercard or AMEX.
Check in is at 3 pm or later (our afternoon wine reception starts at 4 pm), and check out is by 11 am the day of your departure (breakfast is served each morning at 9 am). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins, but you are more than welcome to drop off your luggage. For a late checkout please discuss with us upon your arrival and we will do our best to accommodate.
Cancellations:
Please note: We are not taking deposits, we will have a 1 week cancellation policy. If you have a COVID-19 related cancellation within the 7 day window we will not enforce it. We do not want anyone to travel when they are sick or not comfortable traveling and have a financial consequence if they don’t. We also ask please be honest with us.
- To cancel your reservation please call us directly at (707) 677-3425 or email us at reservations@lostwhaleinn.com. Please note that your cancellation request is not complete until you receive a cancellation email confirmation from our office. Writing an email or leaving a message on our voice mail will not guarantee your cancellation has been processed until you receive a cancellation confirmation. If you have not received a cancellation email within 24 hours of your request, please call our office to speak with a manager.
- If you book two or more different rooms for any reservation our cancellation will be a 14 day minimum, so outside of 14 days there is no fee. 14 days or within of your arrival, you will be charged the remaining balance of your stay. If we can subsequently rent the room then no charges will be made and we will refund your deposit.
- If you cancel your single room reservation 7 days or within of your arrival, you will be charged the the remaining balance of your stay. If we can subsequently rent the room then no charges will be made and we will refund your deposit.
- We do not allow cancellations due to inclement weather.
Smoking is not allowed indoors. We ask that you please smoke away from the house, there are beautiful places to relax on the grounds. Thank you.
